Your support for the Friendly City Safe Space is an essential piece of helping us change the culture in Harrisonburg and empowering people to thrive here. Thank you for considering donating to us!

Monetary donations: These donations go through our parent organization, Shenandoah LGBTQ Center, but are put into discretionary funds and can only be used for the Friendly City Safe Space.

Book donations: Our library needs targeted donations to stay up-to-date and inclusive. If possible, please order books from our wish list through local store Parentheses Books, and they will pass them on to us.

Furniture donations: As FCSS grows and evolves, so too do our furniture needs. Help keep the Safe Space cheerful and inviting by sending us some storage solutions!

Other in-kind donations: There are dedicated bins in the Safe Space where you can drop off small amounts of books, clothes, food, and toiletries. If you want to donate anything larger, please email us at friendlycitysafespace@gmail.com.

Volunteer your Time: You can also donate your time to our organization. We are a volunteer powered organization, whether that is through working a shift during our regular hours, helping to clean/ organize the space, helping table at events, or something else. We are always thankful for any help you can provide!
